There are a few circumstances that may prevent your participant from using the app to complete their scheduled activities (e.g. dosing or completing questionnaires). Here we can review a few examples:
The "Participation Complete" Screen
If your participant sees a screen that says "Participation Complete" upon opening their app, this indicates that the End Date for their period has passed. For example: if the participant's End Date was set to January 1st, 2025 and the participant opens their app on January 2nd, 2025, the app will display this screen.
If the participant is meant to continue using the app, you can extend their period by changing the End Date on the Dashboard. The following KB Article features step by step instructions on how to do this: How to Extend the Period Duration on the Dashboard
The "Done for Today" Screen
If your participant instead sees a screen that says "Done For Today" when opening their app, this means the participant already logged their dose for the day.
To confirm if the participant already logged their dose, you can have the participant connect their device to the internet and open the app, then check the dashboard to see if the dose for that day has uploaded.
The "All Set for Now" Screen
If they see a screen that says "All Set for Now" in the app, this means the participant's dosing window for that day has not yet opened. For example: If the dosing window for your trial is configured to be 10:00 - 19:00 and the participant opens their app at 9:30, they will be presented with this screen.
For safety purposes, some trials have a "minimum time between doses" that will prevent them from taking multiple doses immediately back-to-back as well. For example: let's say their dosing window for their morning dose is from 2:00 - 11:59 and the window for their afternoon dose is from 12:00 - 22:00. If the participant completes their morning dose at 11:50, there may be a buffer for a few hours before they can take their afternoon dose. So they may see this screen after their afternoon window has technically opened.
To resolve this, the participant should return to use the app once the window officially opens for them.
